Solo Exhibition: Moments

Organized by The Union County Board of County Commissioners

Coordinated by the Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, a division of the Union County Department of Parks and Recreation.

Exhibited at The Commissioners Gallery

Exhibition Dates: October 17th – December 9th, 2022

The Union County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to present Moments, an exhibit by the interdisciplinary artist Hao Feng. Moments will be on exhibit at the Commissioners’ Gallery from Monday, October 17 to Friday, December 9, 2022

The Commissioners Gallery is located on the 6th floor of the Union County Administration Building, 10 Elizabethtown Plaza in midtown Elizabeth, and is open on weekdays during regular business hours.

“The works of Hao Feng encourage reflection and appreciation for the experiences of our daily lives, expressing a unique and powerful vision across a wide range of media. We are very proud to bring her creative insights to the Commissioners’ Gallery,” said Union County Commissioner Chair Rebecca L. Williams.

Among the works featured in the Commissioners’ Gallery exhibit are:

  • Laughter in the Dark 1, 2020 (watercolor on paper)
  • Your Ticket_Save Earth Now, 2022 (digital image printed on paper)
  • Dark Matter_Burger Voyage,  2021 (still of a video installation)

The Dark Matter Burger Voyage video can be viewed on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33gPmEMksbM.

The Commissioners’ Gallery was created more than 20 years ago to help connect visual artists, and arts organizations, to the Union County community.

Flag Project 2022

Organized by Rockefeller Center

Exhibited at Rockefeller Plaza

Exhibition Dates: April 1st – April 30th, 2022

I’m honored to have been selected as one of the artists for The Flag Project 2022 at the Rockefeller Center as part of the “ONLY ONE EARTH” exhibition.

The Rockefeller Center is collaborating with the UNEP and the Climate Museum for the 3rd Annual Flag Project, turning the submitted art into one-of-a-kind eco-friendly flags and displayed on one of the 193 flagpoles surrounding Rockefeller Plaza through the month of April. The exhibition will be free, non-ticketed, and open to the public.

The purpose is to show what the environment means to us, how we live sustainably and in harmony with nature, and the daily steps you take towards positive climate action.

If sustainability is defined as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, then what does sustainability look like at the local neighborhood level? Does it mean reducing waste? How about safe and reliable public transportation options?
Or does it mean having small businesses nearby that you can walk to and knowing your neighbors? I believe my design ” Your ticket ” will encourage viewers to live sustainably if it can be as a flag at Rockefeller Center and do something good now. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something good to save our only one earth.

⇒ The Newark Museum of Art Selects 45 Artists for 2021 New Jersey Arts Annual: ReVision and Respond

NEWARK, NJ- February 23, 2021—The Newark Museum of Art is excited to announce the artists whose works will be featured in the upcoming exhibition: 2021 New Jersey Arts Annual: ReVision and Respond. The annual juried exhibition is sponsored by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment of the Arts.

The Newark Museum of Art will host this year’s edition of the long-standing series of exhibitions that highlight the state’s artists. The exhibition is open on Thursday, June 17, and is on view through Sunday, August 22, 2021

This year’s exhibition jurors are Kristen J. Owens, Associate Curator (Programs) for Rutgers University-Newark’s Paul Robeson Galleries at Express Newark, and Amy Simon Hopwood, Associate Curator of Decorative Arts at The Newark Museum of Art. Together, they reviewed more than 1,800 entries from 484 artists across New Jersey. The jurors selected 50 works by 45 artists that powerfully interpret this year’s ReVision and Respond theme, inspired by artists’ crucial role in our society as they offer nuanced perspectives on our current and future worlds.

Honored to be accepted into the 2021 New Jersey Arts Annual at the Newark Museum of Art.

Re-Connect Online Performance Festival

Re-Connect Online Performance Festival is a collective performance arts project that uses digital media technologies to reconnect artists and audiences during the social distancing era. The festival closes that distance by providing an inclusive digital platform for artists to engage global audiences with new, challenging performance art.

Created in March of 2020 in response to the global pandemic, our festival events bring artists from around the world together as an act of solidarity. The first edition of the festival took place between March 25-April 17, 2020. Featuring 45 live performances and 20 lecture or panel discussions selected from 122 applications, we introduced audiences to artists across 5 continents. Viewers enjoyed multilingual events broadcast live from Iran, Lebanon, Egypt, Nigeria, Japan, India, Germany, Romania, the USA, and other countries.

Honored to be part of the Festival!
