Organized by The Union County Board of County Commissioners
Coordinated by the Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, a division of the Union County Department of Parks and Recreation.
Exhibited at The Commissioners Gallery
Exhibition Dates: October 17th – December 9th, 2022
The Union County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to present Moments, an exhibit by the interdisciplinary artist Hao Feng. Moments will be on exhibit at the Commissioners’ Gallery from Monday, October 17 to Friday, December 9, 2022
The Commissioners Gallery is located on the 6th floor of the Union County Administration Building, 10 Elizabethtown Plaza in midtown Elizabeth, and is open on weekdays during regular business hours.
“The works of Hao Feng encourage reflection and appreciation for the experiences of our daily lives, expressing a unique and powerful vision across a wide range of media. We are very proud to bring her creative insights to the Commissioners’ Gallery,” said Union County Commissioner Chair Rebecca L. Williams.
Among the works featured in the Commissioners’ Gallery exhibit are:
Laughter in the Dark 1, 2020 (watercolor on paper)
Your Ticket_Save Earth Now, 2022 (digital image printed on paper)
Dark Matter_Burger Voyage, 2021 (still of a video installation)
I’m honored to have been selected as one of the artists for The Flag Project 2022 at the Rockefeller Center as part of the “ONLY ONE EARTH” exhibition.
The Rockefeller Center is collaborating with the UNEP and the Climate Museum for the 3rd Annual Flag Project, turning the submitted art into one-of-a-kind eco-friendly flags and displayed on one of the 193 flagpoles surrounding Rockefeller Plaza through the month of April. The exhibition will be free, non-ticketed, and open to the public.
The purpose is to show what the environment means to us, how we live sustainably and in harmony with nature, and the daily steps you take towards positive climate action.
If sustainability is defined as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, then what does sustainability look like at the local neighborhood level? Does it mean reducing waste? How about safe and reliable public transportation options? Or does it mean having small businesses nearby that you can walk to and knowing your neighbors? I believe my design ” Your ticket ” will encourage viewers to live sustainably if it can be as a flag at Rockefeller Center and do something good now. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something good to save our only one earth.
